The Omega Scan'O'Vision Star cameras take up to 2000 images each second with a high resolution
2048 pixel vertical line, and the corresponding time is displayed with each picture. This groundbreaking resolution gives 100% more information compared with other cameras, giving the photofinish judge higher zoom and more detail, resulting in faster decisions in those tightest of finishes.
There are currently four cameras in the Star series. Star 1010 includes our patented Spacial Alignment System which provides a TTL (through the lens) view of the finish line making the crytical alignment process both fast and easy.
The Star 210 model gives remote control of the lens iris and focus functions while the Star 2010 boasts both of the above features as the top of the range Camera.
The competitive price of the Star 110 makes this
camera very attractive for customers with restrictive budgets.
All models include a built in digital inclinometer. This visual aid ensures the camera is perfectly level, which is a crucial element of ensuring fair and accurate results from a photofinish system.
The high sensitivity of the sensors allows the Star to work in very low light conditions, lower even than all previous generations of colour photofinish cameras.

Star cameras are self contained devices, needing only a Gigabit network cable to connect it to a capture PC or laptop, which can be up to one hundred metres from the camera.
With the optional internal battery pack installed, a Star camera can continue to operate for up to one hour after mains power failure. This option is recommended for cameras that will be in use outdoors.
Designed with Olympic and world championship sport in mind, the Star camera has features and options to be able to communicate with Results systems, scoreboards and displays, as well as being able to intigrate with wind measurement and false start systems.
Omega Star photofinish cameras measure time to one half of a millisecond, more than enough to accomodate a wide range of sports including; Athletics, cycling, horse racing and greyhound racing, speed skating, rowing and canoeing.
With a standard Nikon fit lens mount, users globally have a wealth of high quality lenses to choose from. Please note that due to the high resolution of the Star camera, some lenses such as those made for digital SLRs do not capture the full image.
